[Current version of FTP Voyager is 15.2.0.4 - released December 20, 2009]
In order to help you get the
quickest support possible for FTP Voyager, we've compiled
this list of some of the most common questions and
answers regarding FTP Voyager. |
Q. What is PASV
mode?
A. In some firewall systems, the firewall
prevents any incoming or outside created connections
from entering the system. In order to get out using
FTP, the client must create the connection. The
mechanism for this is PASV or Passive mode. Not all
servers support PASV.
Q. How can I access another drive in my FTP
server?
A. The easiest way to access multiple volumes
is to create a folder shortcut.
Q. Does FTP Voyager support a Microsoft Proxy
Server?
A. Yes it does. To configure FTP Voyager to
access a Microsoft Proxy server, under the View /
Options menu, select the Connection tab and choose
SOCKS4A as the Internet Access Type.
Q. Can I access drive D:/ on my Windows NT FTP
server?
A. Yes, accessing multiple drives in FTP
Voyager is incredibly easy. You need to simply create
a folder shortcut to the drive that you need to
access.
Q. Why do I receive 'Too many simultaneous logins
from your IP' when I try to download a file?
A. Your FTP server limits you to one login at
a time. FTP Voyager's connection saver feature limits
FTP Voyager to one login.
Q. Will FTP Voyager work with an AllegroSurf Proxy
server?
A. Yes! FTP Voyager has been built to fully
support the AllegroSurf proxy server. Voyager is
without a doubt the easiest FTP client to configure
for use with your AllegroSurf Server.
Q. Can I automate FTP Voyager?
A. Yes, you can using FTP Voyager's command
line options or FTP Scheduler.
Q. Can I upload only the changed files to the FTP
Server?
A. Yes! You can use the FTP Voyager Folder
Synchronization feature. This is also found in FTP
Scheduler so you can automate this process, too!
Q. Can I find a file on my FTP Server?
A. Yes, you can find a file on an FTP Server
by using FTP Voyagers find files feature.
Q. Can I create a 'shortcut' to a 'buried' folder
on my FTP site?
A. Yes. FTP Voyager's Folder Shortcut feature
will accomplish this task.
Q. Why does FTP Voyager ask to become the default
browser when I first run it? Does this effect web
(html) pages.
A. FTP Voyager gives the user the chance to
register it as the default client for all FTP
shortcuts. This does not effect any protocol other
then FTP.
Q. Does FTP Voyager support server-to-server (FXP)
file transfers?
A. Making a direct file transfer form one
server to the other is as simple a dragging and
dropping your files between two FTP Voyager sessions.
Q. After upgrading, FTP Voyager reverts back to an
unregistered version.
A. FTP Voyager includes one year of free
upgrades. If you initially purchased FTP Voyager more
then one (1) year ago you need to .
