This typically occurs when MDaemon wasn't configured to run as an application before moving it to a new machine. Once MDaemon is on the new machine it is trying to start as a service but there is no service installed for it. To correct the problem open the MDaemon.ini file which can be found in the MDaemon\app directory. Search for a RunAsService key, if it exists set it to no and save the file. Then start MDaemon by double clicking on the mdaemon.exe file in the MDaemon\app directory.
Once MDaemon has started you will need to re-install the service.

From the MDaemon menu bar:

1. Select Setup
2. Select System Service...
3. Click the Install Service button.
4. Click the Apply button
5. Click the OK button
6. Reboot the machine and allow MDaemon to start normally.
