All that is required to switch MDaemon from using a dial up connection to a static connection is to disable the use of RAS in MDaemon. Once RAS is disabled MDaemon will use the configuration information found in the TCP/IP setup to connect to the internet.
To disable RAS open MDaemon and from the Menu Bar:

1. Select Setup
2. Click 'Default Domains & Servers'
3. Expand 'RAS'
4. Uncheck the box for 'Enable RAS dialup/dialdown engine'
5. Click the Apply button
6. Click the OK button
